A scientist believes that fracking could solve our international problem of nuclear waste. Some scientist believe that fracking, which is injecting rocks with chemicals could be replaces with nuclear waste which is heavier then the rock and slip deeper into Earth’s core. Opposing scientist believes this could be very a bad idea for a multitude of reasons. Fracking has been known to cause issues such as pollution of the soil and water supply of towns. Radiation is very harmful and could effectively damage the population if the idea fails. Another point that we shoudl be aware is that nucelar waste does not dissipate until about 100,000 years. That means this fracking procedure needs to have enough safety that it wont break 10,000 or 20,000 years down the line.
As we delve into a technological ever-changing future we must be weary of how we deal with today’s problems. If fracking our nuclear waste provides us an opportunity to reduce the amount of radiation we have maybe this proposed idea is worth a shot.
